RB Leipzig are keen to sign Angeliño from Manchester City permanently this summer, but not for the €30m clause they agreed in January.
Angeliño departed the Etihad on deadline day in January, initially joining the German side on loan until the end of the season.
He has proven to be a big hit with Julian Nagelsmann, becoming a regular and making eight appearances in all competitions so far.
They have an option to make his move permanent in the summer for €30m, but according to Kicker, they do not want to pay that amount.
The newspaper explains, after the outbreak of Coronavirus, which has hit club’s finances around Europe hard, the pre-negotiated price is ‘no longer appropriate’ and they want to negotiate with Manchester City over it.
However, even if they can, they will have to convince Angeliño to make his stay in Germany a long-term one.
He is keen to have a second chance at proving himself at Manchester City having failed to do so earlier this season.
If he can’t do that, though, Kicker suggest that another loan deal could provide him with a way out.
