According to Gunes, as covered by Sporx, Galatasaray are still working hard to sign Watford forward Stefano Okaka and transfer talks between the two clubs are set to continue in the coming weeks.
Galatasaray were seriously interested in signing Caykur Rizespor forward Vedat Muriqi, but they’ve lost the race to their bitter rivals Fenerbahce. The Yellow Canaries have confirmed the Kosovan striker has joined them on a four-year deal.
Subsequently Gunes say Galatasaray are back in the market for an attacker and they’re interested in signing the Watford player.
It’s reported once again the Premier League side are looking to get €5m for Okaka and Gunes say Galatasaray offered €3m. The Turkish side could offer an extra €500K to sign the Italian, although a loan deal with the Hornets could be an option.
Okaka spent the second half of last season on loan with Serie A side Udinese where he scored 6 goals in 16 appearances.
He’s under contract at Vicarage Road until June 2021 but he looks surplus to requirements.
