Galatasaray are still looking to keep hold of Southampton owned midfielder Mario Lemina for another season, report Turkish newspaper Fanatik, but it’s likely they can only loan him again.
Along with Henry Onyekuru, who was loaned from AS Monaco in January, Lemina has been one of the club’s most consistent performers in 2020, and it’s reported the Super Lig side’s manager Fatih Terim would like to keep him.
Fanatik claim the most realistic and likeliest option for Lemina will be another season’s loan and Galatasaray are working hard to get the Southampton player. The right of redemption is reportedly €16m, a fee the Istanbul side can’t afford.
Talks with Southampton have already started, as reported earlier in the Turkish media, and Gala are hopeful an agreement can be reached.
Lemina previously stated that he’s very happy at Galatasaray, working alongside Fatih Terim, so he would like to stay at the club beyond this campaign.
It seems that he’s not in the plans of Ralph Hassenhüttl so another loan move could be an option.
The 26 year old has made 23 appearances for Gala in all competitions this season, scoring one goal.
