The reporter spoke directly to an Atletico Mineiro director, asking if he could ‘rule out’ any chances of the club signing Bernard in this transfer window. The answer was “at this moment, yes”.
Nicola agrees that the club can’t sign the Everton player now, but in his opinion, they’re interested in getting him.
However, it’s believed that his former club are ‘monitoring’ his situation with an eye on the end of his deal in 2022. Nicola claims it’s likely the move will end up happening in the near future.
