The future of Adrien Rabiot at Paris Saint-Germain remains a constant source of news in France, as every day he refuses to sign a contract renewal, he edges ever closer to being able to talk to other clubs to then leave on a free, with the likes of Tottenham and Manchester City being interested.
We covered Paris United’s version of events late last week, and this weekend saw TF1 join the conversation, bringing in their own information to the table.
The in-the-know website’s claims were that an early exit from the elite European competition could force Véronique Rabiot, the player’s mother and agent, to push for a January move, having told her son to wait and see what happens before making a decision on his future.
While much of what TF1 have to say is very similar, confirming Tottenham’s interest, what they do add is that the Ligue 1 champions could actively ‘look to sell him’ in January if they get all but knocked out of the Champions League on Wednesday.
It seems a lot will depend on the outcome of said game against Liverpool, meaning Spurs fans will be wanting to cheer on Jürgen Klopp’s men for once if they potentially want Rabiot at Wembley in the next couple of months.
Of course, clubs like Juventus and Barcelona will be providing strong competition for Mauricio Pochettino and Daniel Levy, but there appears to be a lot riding on Wednesday.
