Everton fans have had such a crazy couple of days, seeing the signings of Jordan Pickford and Davy Klaassen, that Sandro Ramirez has somewhat slipped out of consciousness.
The Malaga striker received permission from the Spanish national set-up to travel to Liverpool for talks with Everton, but those talks clearly didn’t lead to an immediate deal.
Things have gone quiet in Spain, other than newspapers trying to imagine how an Atletico Madrid move could still be possible despite the club’s transfer ban. But Marca say Malaga have intensified their search for a Sandro replacement after ‘events’ which suggest the player is off to Everton.
Malaga’s options include Swansea City’s Borja Baston, who has failed to shine since arriving in the Premier League, but that’s just at an interest stage.
As for Sandro to Everton, there’s a little update from Malaga’s local Diario Sur, who say it ‘seems clear’ the player will leave, with Everton and Atletico the only two clubs mentioned.
Sandro himself won’t be dragged into commenting on the situation, preferring instead to concentrate on Spain’s U21 campaign.
