On Wednesday, we covered a nice little update from La Repubblica regarding the interest Newcastle United have in Federico Chiesa.
It was said the player, who wants to try something new, was ready to start the season in the black and white of the Magpies, with new contacts having taken place between the two clubs.
Well, Gazzetta dello Sport suggest even more of said contacts will take place soon, this time in person, as Juventus are travelling to London to meet with some clubs, and Newcastle are expected to be one of them.
While Chiesa isn’t overly keen on the idea of signing for Aston Villa, it is pointed out that he is ‘far from indifferent’ about the interest of the St James’ Park residents and Liverpool.
Newcastle are ‘waiting to free up’ the spot in their squad for the Italian, which would happen by getting rid of Allan Saint-Maximin.
Following good work from Chiesa’s entourage, Juventus ‘wanted to personally verify the state of the interests’, which is why they are travelling to the capital.
What comes of these meetings remains to be seen, but we can expect some updates in the coming few days.
