Fanatik claim Fenerbahce are leading the race to sign Stoke City midfielder Badou Ndiaye, as the Senegal international looks for a quick return to Turkey.

The 28 year old spent last season on loan with Fener’s local rivals Galatasaray.

Last week we covered claims from the Turkish press that Everton and Lille are interested in signing Ndiaye this summer, but Fanatik claim Fenerbahce are now in pole position to land the player.

Haber Global’s Fenerbahce journalist Yagiz Sabuncuoglu also reports Ndiaye’s agent William D’Avila has offered his client to Fenerbahce, as had been claimed a few days ago.

The Yellow Canaries and D’Avila are said to have a good relationship, with reports they are also close to signing former Galatasaray winger Garry Rodrigues, another player represented by the agent.

Ndiaye has gone on record to say he doesn’t want to play for Stoke City next season due to them still being in the Championship. The player joined Gala on loan last summer following the Potters’ relegation from the Premier League.

It’s likely the central midfielder’s future will now be dealt with at the end of the Africa Cup of Nations.
