Trabzonspor have ‘launched’ a late minute transfer bid for Everton’s Andros Townsend as they look for a replacement for Edin Visca.
That’s according to Fanatik, who say the Everton veteran is the ‘surprise name’ on the Turkish side’s list of options.
They explain that Trabzonspor are looking for a last-minute addition on the wing after Visca picked up an injury and after failing to sign their number one target, Georgi Masouras, have turned their attention to Townsend.
He’s currently in the last year of his contract at Goodison Park, so a transfer fee is unlikely to be high and if Trabzonspor do make an offer, they aim to finalise a deal for a ‘suitable price’.
Whether Everton are open to a sale isn’t mentioned but it would make sense, with the arrival of Dwight McNeill and the continued development of Anthony Gordon only pushing Townsend down the pecking order.
There is a chance Frank Lampard would prefer to keep him around as an experienced option off the bench, particularly with the new five subs rule in place but that’s just us speculating.
What is a fact, at least according to Fanatik, is that Trabzonspor have been offered the winger and he wants to leave Everton.
