In case you weren’t aware, Manchester United are interested in Fiorentina’s Nikola Milenković.
The Serbian defender has impressed for the Serie A side this season, and with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer still searching for that elusive Harry Maguire partner, there’s hope he can find him in Italy.
Fiorentina are currently stuck between a rock and a hard place when it comes to their star man, as he only has a year left on his contract and isn’t interested in renewing.
This means they will have to cash in this summer if they are to avoid him leaving on a free, which Gazzetta dello Sport report on Thursday means it has now become ‘inevitable’ for them to sell Milenković.
Not only that, but it’s explicitly stated that Manchester United are ‘already operational’ when it comes to trying to sign the defender, and with Liverpool now seemingly targeting RB Leipzig’s Ibrahima Konaté, the path could be clear.
We’ll have to wait and see, but for those hoping for centre-back reinforcements this summer at Old Trafford, your wish might just come true.
