Cadiz are eyeing a move for Tottenham forward Bryan Gil should he be made available again this summer.
That’s according to Diario de Cadiz, who say the Spanish side are keeping an eye on Gil after being keen on him in the past.
They explain the Spaniard was ‘once in the running’ to sign for Cadiz, but that option was discarded when Sevilla only offered a loan.
They also like the idea of a move before he joined Tottenham, but Sevilla elected to send him to London instead.
He’s since endured a difficult time with Spurs but managed to revive himself during a loan spell with Valencia in the second half of last season.
That deal has now come to an end, and he’s returned to Tottenham, but the expectation is that he will be loaned out again this summer as Antonio Conte prefer to focus on experienced players rather than youngsters to develop.
If Tottenham do ‘open the door again’, then Gil will not be short of offers, and Cadiz are one of those who might look to sign him.
They are ‘keeping an eye’ on his situation, and while at this moment it would be ‘impossible’ for them to get a deal over the line, that would change if he ‘becomes available’ in the market.
The newspaper anticipates that is likely to happen in the final two weeks of August rather than early on in the window.
Either way, as long as the pieces fit, that is to say, there is a desire on the part of the player and Tottenham, the Cadiz will look to secure a loan move for him.
