Arriving from Dundee FC for a measly £50k back in January 2019, Glen Kamara has become player Steven Gerrard has relied on a lot this season.
Making 39 appearances in all competitions for Rangers before the Covid-19 pandemic, the 24-year-old has attracted some interest from across Europe, including across the Channel.
According to France Football, Marseille ‘especially followed him during the Euro qualifiers’, where he was key in Finland’s qualification bid, and have taken a close look at him for their summer recruitment.
However, they will need to sell before they can afford him, as his value has sky rocketed over the past year and a half, going from the £50k he arrived for to somewhere between €8-10m.
This comes as part of a bid from the French side to bolster their squad ahead of next season’s likely Champions League campaign (if they pass the FFP check), and it seems like they’ve placed Kamara on their list.
Prior to breaking through at Ibrox, the Finland international came through both Southend’s and Arsenal’s academies (as well as a loan at Colchester United) before heading to Scotland and Dundee FC in 2017.
