Following Granit Xhaka’s situation at Arsenal, AC Milan were one of the clubs who were immediately linked to the Swiss player, with claims they could make a move to sign him in January.

But now it seems that Xhaka isn’t the only midfielder from the Gunners who the Rossoneri are interested in.

According to a report from website Fichajes today, the Italian side also have Lucas Torreira as a target.

Milan are trying to recover from their bad start to the season and would be making some heavy investment to get the team sorted in January.

Fichajes says Torreira is a ‘surprising target’ for the Rossoneri, who could be making a bid of up to €40m for the Uruguayan midfielder.

Torreira hasn’t been a regular starter under Unai Emery, having eight appearances in the Premier League this season, most of them coming from the bench.

But would Arsenal give up on him in the middle of the season for only €40m? That doesn’t sound very likely.
