Manchester United’s Amad Diallo has emerged as one of the targets for FC Basel in the January transfer window.
Arthur Cabral is currently leading the side’s attack and starred for the Swiss club, scoring 27 goals and registering eight assists from 31 matches in all competitions.
The Brazilian’s impressive stats and fine displays has caught the attention of clubs across Europe. He is close to joining Fiorentina, where he will replace Dušan Vlahović, who is all but set to join Juventus.
Cabral’s exit will leave a hole in Basel’s squad and they will need to bring in a replacement for him.
According to Blick, the Swiss Super League side have identified a handful of targets and among them is the Manchester United player, even though Diallo doesn’t operate in the same position as Cabral.
Basel are ‘interested’ in the ‘lightning-fast’ forward, and have a specific formula in mind to carry out a deal before the window closed on Monday. They are of the belief a loan deal can be worked out with United for the Ivory Coast international.
Diallo came close to joining Feyenoord on loan last summer, but the move collapsed after he suffered an injury.
Since regaining full fitness, the former Atalanta man has made only one appearance for Manchester United and that came during the Red Devils’ 1-1 draw against Young Boys last month.
