The chance of Roma making a move for Chelsea’s Conor Gallagher ‘is not excluded’ this summer after his impressive performances for Crystal Palace this season.
Gallagher has been a key player for Crystal Palace after signing on loan from Chelsea in the summer, with a series of key performances under Patrick Vieira this season.
With a tally of eight goals and five assists in 30 appearances, he has earned himself plenty of attention, and there is a growing belief he could be on the move this summer.
That will depend on Crystal Palace, who will be keen to keep him, and Chelsea, who still own his rights and may decide to keep him at Stamford Bridge, given how well he’s done this year.
Either way, it is set to be an interesting summer for the 22-year-old, and this week reports in England put Roma firmly in the mix for his signature.
They claimed that Jose Mourinho is a big fan of the midfielder and would like to sign him as part of his summer rebuild.
Gazzetta Dello Sport have now covered that reported interest and say that ‘it is not excluded’ that the midfielder could head to Rome.
The Serie A side have been watching his performances this season and believe he ‘combines physicality and quality’ in equal measure.
His future ‘will be decided’ in June when he returns to Chelsea, and Roma ‘would be interested’ in closing a loan deal with the Londoners if they can.
There’s work to be done, and it’s still to be determined whether the Blues will sanction any deals and what Palace will have to say on the matter.
Roma are certainly keen, though, with Gallagher fitting into their plans for a summer of low-cost additions to bolster Mourinho’s squad.
