Timo Werner’s agents are in contact with Juventus as he gears up to leave Chelsea this summer.
That’s according to Corriere Dello Sport, who say the striker is ‘pushing’ to leave Stamford Bridge and has options around Europe.
The newspaper says his agents are ‘talking to Juve’ and while the striker has expressed a desire to return to Germany, he does not say no to Juventus either.
The Serie A side have ‘intensified their contacts’ with his entourage and Chelsea’s openness to a loan with a right to buy is a ‘temptation’.
The big problem is Werner’s wages, with him earning €10m a year at Chelsea currently. No other club is going to pay that and Juventus are working on the percentage of the salary they would cover.
The Italians will have to work with Chelsea on the potential deal, with the Blues sure to demand as much of Werner’s €10m be covered as possible.
Werner does have offers elsewhere, though, and a report in Germany today made it clear he would halve his wages to return to RB Leipzig.
Whether he is willing to do the same to move to Juventus remains to be seen, but they are very much in the picture for his signature.
