Pushed to one side by Scott Parker, Jean-Michaël Seri was in desperate need of a transfer in January.
The Ivory Coast international never managed to live up to his large transfer fee when he was purchased from OGC Nice, and a loan to Galatasaray was arranged last season.
That ended up going rather well, and they were interested once again in January, but it’s a return to France that Seri prioritised, swapping Fulham for Girondins de Bordeaux on loan.
The midfielder decided some time back in Ligue 1, a championship he’d already mastered in the past, might be more beneficial, but there remains some doubts over which Seri they are getting.
RMC journalist Nicolas Paolorsi explained, relayed by Girondins4Ever: “What’s interesting is that there was a big blow with Otávio’s injury, and the club were super responsive and did a great job.
So be careful, we’ll see if it’s the Jean Michaël Seri from Nice, or the one from Fulham a little out of shape. But on paper, the club was inspired to get it done”.
The 29-year-old has only made two small appearances since his move, as he’s still trying to get back into the swing of things.
Either way, it seems that, as a whole, the move has been well received, but only time will tell if it becomes a successful one.
