As Nicolas Pepé’s departure from Arsenal is turning into quite a saga, we now see a new potential destination for the forward.
According to Turkish outlet Gunebakis, Trabzonspor are in the race to sign the 28-year-old.
It’s said the club have made contact and are currently finding out the conditions to get Pepé from Arsenal, and will be attempting the transfer before the end of the local window.
By making that move, Trabzonspor join a race against their league rivals Besiktas, who’ve been working hard to get the winger signed.
Other reports from the Turkish media talked about his case on Wednesday morning. It’s been claimed that Arsenal’s favourite option is to sell him to Al-Shabbab, who could pay £4m for his transfer.
That isn’t guaranteed, though, and Besiktas were said to be in advanced talks to get him signed for free, with him terminating his contract with the Gunners.
Now with Trabzonspor joining the race, it seems these will be very busy days for Pepé. He has to look to markets which are still open, but time is running out.
