Juventus’ Matias Soulé has been on loan at Frosinone since the last window and he has starred for them this season, managing six goals and an assist from 15 games. His form has caught the attention of a few clubs, including Newcastle United.
On December 7th, JuveLive.it stated the Magpies are keen to get the forward in January and are waiting for a signal from the Old Lady’s technical director, Cristiano Giuntoli, to make an approach.
Today’s Gazzetta dello Sport states Newcastle are in the picture to sign the 20-year-old and also provide a background into the work done by Giuntoli to cash in from his sale.
The director had recently made a trip to England, where he found out about the Magpies’ interest in the winger, and the parties have continued contacts in the last few days.
Soulé’s deal with the Old Lady expires in 2026 but the report explains that they are ‘increasingly inclined’ to sell him to Eddie Howe’s side [or another club] next month.
It’s claimed an offer of around €25m plus bonuses would be ‘difficult to refuse’.
Newcastle now have to make an offer to Juve if they wish to secure the Argentine’s services in January.
