There’s a claim in the Turkish media that Goztepe are showing interest in Southampton defender Joachim Kayi Sanda.

The 18-year-old only signed for the Premier League side a few days ago but could be shipped out on loan to get first team experience.

Ege Telgraf report on Goztepe’s pursuit for the young defender, just days after the player signed for Southampton from French side Valenciennes FC.

It’s claimed the Super Lig side are currently in transfer talks to sign Kayi Sanda and its likely negotiations will centre on the French youth international being sent on loan to Turkey for the remainder of the season.

Southampton and Goztepe are both owned by Sports Republic and this has seen Saints players being sent to the Turkish club.

Mateusz Lis was signed by Goztepe in the summer following his initial loan spell with them last season, and Kuryu Matsuki was loaned to the Turkish side despite only signing for Southampton in the last window.

Kayi Sanda made 12 appearances for Valenciennes FC this season, before his switch to St Marys’ last week. He’s contracted to the English side until June 2029.
