Barcelona are hunting for a new striker, and Manchester United’s Marcus Rashford is on their list of targets.
That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, who cover Barça’s search for a new number nine in their latest edition.
The newspaper explains that Barcelona are looking for a new striker to replace Luis Suárez and have drawn up a list of potential candidates.
Marcus Rashford, as well as Harry Kane and Roberto Firmino, is one of the players they have identified as a potential target.
It’s explained that Barça have long admired the Manchester United striker and, while he is of a lower ranking than the likes of Kane, is considered a player with a lot of potential.
Indeed, Barcelona have already been in contact with Rashford in the past, having held ‘important’ talks with him before he renewed his contract with United in July of this year.
There’s no mention of what price the La Liga champions would look to pay for Rashford, although it’s easy to imagine United demanding a high price for a player they have locked down until 2023.
Signing a new number nine is Barça’s ‘next big decision’, and it seems Manchester United may face a fight to keep one of their key men when they decide which striker they want.
