In the past few months, many clubs, including Arsenal, have been linked to Feyenoord midfielder Orkun Kökcü.
One of the sides who seem to have the biggest interest in his transfer is Benfica, with the Portuguese media often writing about the Eagles’ interest in him.
That takes place again today, with outlet Record featuring a story to explain that the Eagles are ‘in a hurry’ to get the 22-year-old signed, and want a deal done ‘as soon as possible’.
The reason for them to rush is the competition, with the outlet pointing out that Arsenal are one of the Premier League clubs who want him.
Benfica have a big problem in these negotiations, and that’s Feyenoord’s request. The Dutch side have been making it clear they want €40m for the sale.
The Eagles try an alternative way by offering less money and giving the Eredivisie club a big share on a potential future move, and hope they get on board with the operation.
Regarding Arsenal, it isn’t said whether the Gunners are willing to match Feyenoord’s demands, but it’s made it clear that there’s an advantage given they’re in a ‘more attractive league’.
