Paul Pogba’s future continues to be a hot topic, yet Mino Raiola has attempted to talk down the chance of a January transfer. Given the impact of Covid-19 on football finances, and no firm end in sight, it’s unlikely there’s going to be huge purchases in the winter market.
Nevertheless, in Turin they haven’t given up hope of the Manchester United player returning to Juventus before the end of next month.
Saturday’s edition of Corriere Torino says that taking Pogba in January remains the ‘great dream’. Fortunately for the Serie A club, they have ‘excellent’ relations with Raiola, and it’s thought the agent would do all he can to build a deal.
However, Juventus would need Manchester United and Pogba himself to put forward ‘favourable requests’ when it comes to a transfer. For the midfielder, and likely his agent, that may well mean taking less money from a move than they would have thought possible during another period.
As far as Manchester United are concerned, the Turin newspaper suggests they may be pushed to accept a six month loan, with Juventus then making the transfer permanent next summer.
That doesn’t sound so beneficial for the Premier League club, and they’d likely prefer to keep Pogba until they can replace him next summer.
