Lazio are ‘hoping for a bidding war’ to break out between Arsenal, Manchester United and Juventus for Sergej Milinkovic-Savic this summer.
That’s according to Il Mattino, who say Juventus are considering a fresh effort for the midfielder after the injury news regarding Paul Pogba.
The Frenchman arrived on a free transfer from Manchester United this summer but is has been revealed he has a meniscus injury that may require surgery.
That would leave him out of action for months and Juventus without the key player they wanted in the middle of the park and needing another signing.
Il Mattino state the Italian side could look at a ‘new lunge’ for Milinkovic-Savic in that instance but Lazio are hoping they will face competition.
They want there to be a ‘bidding war’ with Arsenal and Manchester United, both of whom have been linked again this summer.
United have been credited with an interest for the last few years and again this summer amid their frustrated efforts to sign Frenkie de Jong. Arsenal, meanwhile, were said to be ready to do anything to make a deal happen earlier this month.
Lazio are now hoping that will turn into a formal bid if Juventus show an interest and Il Mattino state a deal can be done for €55-60m.
Whether either of the Premier League duo would pay that isn’t mentioned but Lazio are certainly keen on them getting involved and a bidding war breaking out.
