Alavés are hoping to have Manchester United youngster Facundo Pellistri at the club next week after nearly two months of negotiations.
That’s according to Noticias de Alava, who say the forward is close to completing a return to Spain after his loan spell last year.
They say that ‘everything seems to indicate’ that Pellistri will be returning to the Spanish club, and the Paseo de Cervantes based club hope to officially announce the signing of the Uruguayan winger in the next few days.
The plan is that Javi Calleja can have him as part of his training camp in La Manga and the friendlies they have planned before they host Real Madrid at Mendizorroza.
According to the newspaper’s information, Pellistri has chosen to return to Alavés ahead of other European destinations, and so Manchester United have been working on a deal.
However, his arrival has been delayed due to his ‘sporting obligations’ with Manchester United, who wanted to use him in pre-season and have done so.
The plan now is to finalise his return to Spain as soon as possible in the hope that he can continue the development he enjoyed when given the chance.
Alavés are naturally delighted to get him back and believe they will recover a player who will bring an ‘unbalancing element’ to their team next season.
