Alfredo Morelos has been linked with clubs in England and across Europe after managing 29 goals and 10 assists in all competitions for Rangers last season.

Lille are one of the suitors for the striker and Gérard López, the Ligue 1 club’s owner recently revealed his club are interested in the Colombia international.

Christophe Galtier’s side need to reinforce their strike force after allowing Victor Osimhen to seal a switch to Napoli. Lille cashed in €70m plus bonuses from the Nigerian’s sale.

According to Area Napoli, the French club have identified Steven Gerrard’s star as a ‘heir of Osimhen’.

It’s claimed this week will be the ‘decisive week’ for Lille to acquire the South American’s signature. The website also adds Morelos was proposed to Napoli in the past few weeks.

Rangers have already set a £20m asking price, according to the claims, and to this date, Lille have not met the valuation. That’s because the latter must first sort out their transfer budget for this summer.

Area Napoli state Lille hope to ‘quickly close’ the attacker’s signing, thanks to the ‘agreement already reached’ between the club and Morelos for personal terms.
