Torino are actively pursuing a deal for Celtic defender Josip Juranović and have held ‘first contacts’ about a potential move.
That’s according to Sky Italia, relayed by Goal Italia, who say the full-back could end up costing around €6m.
They explain that the World Cup has inevitably activated the market sirens of several clubs around Europe and the world, prompting Ange Postecoglou’s side to brace themselves.
Torino are one of those and have ‘promptly set their sights’ on one of the ‘protagonists’ of the competition in Qatar.
That man is Celtic’s Josip Juranović, who played a starring role in Croatia’s run to the semi-finals of the competition and was again impressive in the defeat to Argentina.
Torino have ‘initiated the first contacts’ with Celtic for the defender and they have been developing ever since that point ‘in a fruitful manner’.
He is valued by Celtic at around €6m but an agreement could be found between the two parties through a free loan until the summer at which a purchase clause would kick in.
Whether that is something the Scottish champions would accept isn’t mentioned but it seems that could be the proposal the Italian side will put forward as they try to sign the Croatia star in January.
