The time is coming for AC Milan to take a decision on the future of Fikayo Tomori. Following his loan from Chelsea, the Rossoneri can now have him permanently by using the €28m buying option they have.

There are mixed reports from Italy on this subject today. The main one comes from Sky Italia (via Calcio Mercato), who say the defender met Paolo Maldini and Frederic Massara today.

That conversation is happening with several players in the squad, but in this case, Milan will get to know if Tomori is interested in staying at the club on a permanent deal.

The Rossoneri are said to be satisfied with his form, claimed to be ‘convinced of his qualities’, and could even ask for a discount on that fee agreed with Chelsea. It’s said the player’s wish will be crucial for the Serie A side to act.

However, speaking of the same situation, Tuttosport doesn’t sound very sure about Milan buying him.

The newspaper points out that despite the defender’s good start at the club, Tomori made mistakes in the past couple of games which resulted in the Rossoneri missing important points in the league.

That means the club are still to have a final decision on whether to buy him from Chelsea or not. Perhaps the discount mentioned in the first story is what this is all about.
