AC Milan met with the representatives of Liverpool forward Divock Origi on Monday to discuss a potential move to the club this summer.

That’s according to Tuttomercatoweb, who say further meetings could be planned ahead of the striker’s departure from Anfield.

Origi is out of contract at Liverpool this summer and looks unlikely to extend his stay beyond that point.

Several reports over the last week have indicated that Milan are one of the sides keen on his signature, with it explained that Origi’s agent had contacted them and made it clear Liverpool would not be offering him a new contract.

That had sparked the Italian side’s interest as the fact the Belgian would be available on a free was attractive to a club who keep a close control on their finances.

TMW now pick up on that today and state that while Milan are keen, they have ‘not yet made an offer’ to try and beat the competition for his signature.

They held a meeting with Origi on Monday at Casa Milan to understand ‘what the margins for negotiations’ are, but there has been nothing more than that.

Indeed, TMW say it will be necessary to wait another ten days to find out if Milan will move forwards as there could be ‘another summit’ and ‘reproachment’ over the international break.

Origi has also been offered to Juventus and Inter Milan, but both of those clubs have deemed him as ‘unsuitable’, hence why the rumours about AC Milan’s interest have picked up pace.

The striker did have the option to stay at Liverpool as they had an automatic extension clause if he met a certain number of appearances, but as that has not happened, they now don’t have that option.

Origi is therefore set to change teams in the summer, and Milan are in the picture, but the parties ‘are still distant’ at this point, despite that meeting on Monday.
