On Wednesday, claims from England that Nantes were interested in Nottingham Forest’s Brice Samba were denied in France.
It came from Foot Mercato’s Santi Aouna, who took to Twitter to briefly state those weren’t true, and he has since expanded on the matter.
Still on the social media platform, the journalist states that ‘despite the rumours, Brice Samba isn’t in the sights of Nantes’.
In fact, the Ligue 1 side ‘haven’t made any offer to Nottingham Forest’, where he remains under contract for the time being.

That doesn’t mean he won’t leave the newly promoted Premier League side, because he has ‘various solicitations, from France and abroad’ to leave City Ground.
There’s no mention of how much Nottingham Forest would ask for their playoff hero, but with just the one year left on his contract, it’s clear they are limited when it comes to how high they can go.
Samba made 45 appearances in all competitions for Forest in the recently finished season, conceding just 39 goals and keeping 16 clean sheets.
