Club haven’t even made contact with Leeds United yet – Plan to sign Whites player isn’t moving fast

On Monday, L’Equipe reported Stade Rennais want to sign Leeds United’s Glen Kamara in the summer window.

Tuesday’s edition of Ouest-France relay L’Equipe’s claim and then provide their own take on the Ligue 1 side’s interest in the Leeds player.

On June 10th, Stade Rennais appointed Frederic Massara as their new sporting director. The Italian has already started working behind the scenes to reshape the current squad.

The director has maintained close contacts with Stade Rennais president Olivier Cloarec and first-team manager Julien Stéphan over the past few weeks. The report claims they have made advances to strengthen the defence.

Kamara seems to be high on the French club’s midfield target list as his profile suits what they are looking for in the market. Despite this, the newspaper claims Stade Rennais have made no direct contact with Leeds so far for the 27-year-old.

To sum it up, Stade Rennais have an interest in the Whites player, but their plan to sign him isn’t progressing fast enough.

The Finland international’s contract lasts until 2027, and this would give the Championship side an upper hand during potential negotiations with Stade Rennais this summer.
