On Tuesday, Sport stated Manchester City star Bernardo Silva is Barcelona’s dream target for the next window.
It was also reported the attacking midfielder wants to leave the Etihad after this season.
Wednesday’s Mundo Deportivo also discusses the La Liga side’s interest in the 28-year-old and his Manchester City teammate, İlkay Gündoğan. The duo are included in the list of targets for the Catalan club.
Xavi Hernández has been without Pedri since he suffered an injury in his side’s 2-2 draw against Manchester United last month. The youngster’s absence has seen the coach ask the club for a new player with a profile similar to that of Pedri.
This is where Silva fits in and his name is first on the list. It’s claimed he’s ‘most liked’ at the Camp Nou. The Manchester City player meets the profile Xavi is looking for. Due to this age, style of play and experience, Pep Guardiola’s star would ‘fit perfectly’ at Barca.
This is why they see Silva as the ‘ideal’ target to either replace Pedri or play alongside the Spain international.
Barca also have Gündoğan on their target list. The German has a contract expiring at the end of this season and would fit the needs of the Spanish giants.
