Borussia Dortmund are among the clubs to have included Sunderland’s Jobe Bellingham in their target list.
That’s according to Sky Deutschland, who say the Bundesliga side are ‘in contact’ with the 19-year-old’s camp.
The midfielder has made 13 appearances this season and his displays for Sunderland have seen clubs in England and across Europe take notice.
This includes BVB, and the report claims their officials rate the England U21 international ‘more highly’ than they even did his brother, Jude Bellingham.
The Champions League finalists signed Jude from Birmingham City in 2019 and sold him to Real Madrid for €103m excluding bonuses in 2023. The German club therefore have close ties with the Bellinghams.
Sky state Borussia Dortmund ‘maintain intensive contact’ with the Sunderland star’s family, via chief scout Sebastian Krug. The two parties have talked about a possible deal for Jobe.
At this moment in time, the option of securing the Black Cats man isn’t ‘hot or concrete’. The report states BVB will continue to closely monitor him in action for Régis Le Bris’ side.
His contract lasts until 2028, and Sky claim Sunderland expect €25m to sanction his sale. Borussia Dortmund would face competition from English clubs to sign Jobe.
