On Friday, Gianluca Di Marzio reported Cristiano Ronaldo’s agent made contact with Napoli over a deal for the Manchester United star.
It was also explained Jorge Mendes could bring an offer from the Red Devils for Victor Osimhen and his exit can help the super-agent place his client at the Serie A side.
This possibility was also reported by several others in Italy, before Osimhen’s agent ruled out any negotiations with Manchester United and dismissed the possibility of the striker leaving the Naples club before the window closes.
That has not stopped reports involving Ronaldo and the 23-year-old. Gianluca Di Marzio claims Mendes continues to push the Portugal international to Napoli and the former Lille man would be involved in the deal.
Erik ten Hag’s side are keen to sign Antony, but have seen their latest offer of €90m rejected by Ajax. It needs to be seen whether they will improve their bid for the winger or decide to invest €100m or more on Osimhen.
If their proposal for the Nigeria international exceeds €100m, Napoli have ‘given a sign of openness’ to part ways him, despite his agent’s comments. Manchester United should also help them with the loan signing of Ronaldo by contributing most, if not all, of his salary.
As it stands, there is still no negotiation and the Italian club have not received an official offer so far.
Meanwhile, Di Marzio shared his views on why Osimhen’s agent made those comments on Friday.
“At the moment there is no negotiation underway, today Osimhen’s agent was quick to clarify that there are no negotiations with United and that the player wants to stay,” Di Marzio told Sky Italia, relayed by Tutto Napoli.
“This is perhaps due to the fact that he is annoyed by the fact that Mendes is preparing the negotiations without having also involved the other protagonists.”
