Halid Djankpata hasn’t played for the Everton first team yet, but has made two appearances for the club’s reserves’ side recently.

He was the captain of the Under-21s’ side against Chelsea, which might suggest that he is one of the better talents at the Everton youth academy.

The teenager could now be set to seal an exit from the Toffees, and could soon return to Italy.

CalcioSpezia have reported on the 19-year-old central midfielder, stating that the player is ‘pushing’ to return to Italy and while there was interest from Bologna, Genoa, Torino and Atalanta, it is Spezia who have ‘beaten the competition’.

The deal could close in a ‘couple of days’ and Djankpata is someone that the Aquilotti had been monitoring for some time. They have now decided to close the deal, with numbers regarding the fee yet to emerge.

Playing for the Serie B side could hand the midfielder some crucial first-team minutes, as he looks to develop further in his career.
