Sporting are really having a hard time trying to sign Tiago Ilori from Reading, the Portuguese press says.
Newspaper O Jogo claims today that the Lions have two problems to get the signing: convincing both the club and the player to accept their offer.
With Ilori being a regular starter at Reading, the Royals have no intention of letting him go, especially in such a crucial time in the season.
The outlet says that it would be hard to convince the player as well.
Manager Marcel Keizer likes the duo made by Jeremy Mathieu and Sebastian Coates, so Ilori would take some time to join the fight for a starting role.
It’s interesting that last week claims from Portugal had said Ilori actually had a ‘verbal agreement’ to join Sporting, and now things are reported differently.
Now O Jogo says the Lions are even looking for other targets, since signing the 25-year-old will not be an easy job in the January transfer window.
