Real Betis have put Jorge Mendes in charge of selling striker Raúl García de Haro this summer, with Everton ‘following him closely’.
That’s according to Estadio Deportivo, who say the Portuguese super-agent has been put in charge of finding a move for the forward.
Reports this week have indicated that Everton are keeping an eye on García as they continue their hunt for a new centre-forward into the summer.
Several reports have made it clear they’re looking at him as an option, with a report stating they are ‘convinced’ about a move later followed by another stating he could be available for as little as €10m.
Estadio follow that up today and say that García is very much Betis’ most saleable asset in terms of the four forwards they currently have in their squad.
They’re happy to let him go as a sale would allow them to make other moves and open up space in terms of Financial Fair Play.
This doesn’t mean a sale is guaranteed but they have put the player in the shop window, with a starting price of €10m leading Everton into ‘following him closely’.
A move to the Premier League could be on the cards as they’ve put the potential operation in the hands of Jorge Mendes and his agency, both of whom have ‘very good contacts’ in England that would open even more doors for the player.
All the parties involved plan to sit down and present the offers García may have on the table, with Everton very much in the race and a deal there to be done if they want it.
