Feyenoord have a ‘great chance’ of signing Manchester United youngster Amad Diallo in January, with the Reds willing to help the Dutch club financially.
That’s according to Feyenoord Transfermarkt, who say a loan deal would last for one and a half years.
Diallo is currently a part of Manchester United’s Premier League 2 side but has endured a difficult campaign so far, with injuries limiting him to just two appearances so far.
The idea of him being loaned out to gain first-team football has been floating around for a few months, with Feyenoord at the front of the queue for his signature.
They wanted him in the summer but were scuppered by Diallo picking up an injury and want to revive that interest in the January transfer window.
Several reports have indicated that they want to make a move, with it even claimed that Diallo is interested in joining the Dutch side.
Feyenoord Transfermarkt pick up on that today, stating that Feyenoord have a ‘great chance’ of getting Diallo thanks to Manchester United’s help.
United are reportedly ‘willing to help financially’ to send the Ivorian forward to Rotterdam for the next 18 months.
The nature of this isn’t mentioned, but we’ll assume Manchester United are willing to forego a loan fee and cover most of the youngster’s wages. If not, perhaps they have simply offered to reduce both to make a deal easier for the Dutch side.
According to the report, the ‘will is there’ on all sides, but the competition is ‘lurking’ in the background and seemingly ready to move if Diallo is available.
