After failing to sign Mbaye Diagne and seeing a last minute attempt to bring back Yannick Bolasie from Everton scuppered, Anderlecht are still without a forward to bolster their frontline.

Vincent Kompany’s side have struggled for goals so far this season, and one way to rectify that would be to bring in a player who knows the league well and has already demonstrated his ability to find the back of the net in it.

That man, according to France Football journalist Nabil Djellit, is Michy Batshuayi, currently on the periphery of Frank Lampard’s squad at Chelsea, and Anderlecht are ‘going all in’.

Playing just six minutes so far, the Belgium international, despite what his manager says, doesn’t appear to seriously be in any sort of plans going forward, meaning a move elsewhere for first-team football is needed.

As of yet, no details have emerged regarding what a move to Anderlecht would involve, but considering Chelsea would want to recoup a large chunk of their initial expenditure, we doubt the Jupiler Pro League side have the money to make the move permanent just yet.

That suggests a loan would be the way to go, but first we’ll have to wait and see how open the Blues are to an exit, as letting Batshuayi go would leave them light in depth up top with just Tammy Abraham and Olivier Giroud to choose from.
