As you all know by now, West Ham want a new midfielder to take Jack Wilshere’s place during the second half of the season.
Tomáš Souček has helped with the defensive side of things, but David Moyes appears to still be searching for some creativity and mobility to go alongside the Czech Republic international, which is where Nahitan Nández came in.
We’ve covered a number of articles on the matter, the latest of which came from Alfredo Pedullà in Italy on Wednesday, who reported the Hammers had made an €8m loan offer with a mandatory €35m option to buy if they stay up.
It was said that Cagliari, where Nández currently plays, wanted ‘ulterior guarantees’ as they weren’t sure about that clause, and it appears they’ve now given West Ham an ultimatum.

Gazzetta dello Sport report on Thursday that the only way the Uruguayan midfielder will leave the Serie A club in January is on a permanent transfer with the money up front.
That choice appears to have put West Ham off, as the Italian newspaper explain Nández ‘should stay until June’.
Barring a change of heart from London Stadium, it appears Moyes will have to look elsewhere, like Celtic?
