Lazio may be on the verge of completing the signing of Callum Hudson-Odoi from Chelsea, but they’re apparently not very sure about it.
This situation is today explained by Calcio Mercato, who feature a story saying the Serie A side have two transfers ready to be completed.
The first is Hudson-Odoi, and it’s said after beating the competition from Fulham, Lazio have an agreement with Chelsea for a loan with a conditional redemption obligation.
Even the 22-year-old himself approved the chance of working under Maurizio Sarri again. The problem is that the Italian club are not yet ready to complete the operation.
The reason for that is Lazio had also been chasing Arsen Zakharyan, the Dynamo Moscow star who could be signed for around €15m. And since they only have one spot left for a non-EU citizen in the squad, they must now make a choice.
Calcio Mercato don’t make it clear whether the club have a preference between the two. What seems clear is that they already have a deal with Chelsea, while they’d still need to negotiate with Dynamo Moscow, which would require a little more work in case they go for the second option.
It’s explained that the two players can’t arrive together ‘under any circumstances’, and a decision must be made very soon.
