There’s a claim in the Turkish media that Trabzonspor have reached an agreement with Watford to sign Wesley Hoedt.

The Dutchman has been linked with the Super Lig side in recent weeks as they look to bring in another central defender this summer.

Karadeniz Gazete report that after weeks of transfer talks Trabzonspor have finally broken Watford’s resolve to sign the defender.

The Championship side have been reluctant to lose Hoedt on the cheap in this transfer window which has meant the two clubs hadn’t been able to agree on the transfer fee.

However, with Hoedt agreeing on personal terms with the Trabzon club there’s been effort to get a deal over the line. The player has less than 12 months left on his contract at Vicarage Road and Watford have been looking for a permanent exit.

The Turkish club have already brought in former Manchester City defender Stefan Savić this week and are hoping to bring in Hoedt as his central defence partner.

Hoedt made 48 appearances for the Hornets last season, scoring three goals.
