Lucas Torreira has returned to Arsenal after his season-long loan spell at Fiorentina and has been included in Mikel Arteta’s pre-season squad for the trip to the United States.

The midfielder’s future could be away from the north London club. On Thursday, his agent has revealed about the agreement he has in place with Valencia for Torreira.

Super Deporte now claim the road to sign the Arsenal player is more open than ever for Los Ches. That doesn’t mean he will arrive, but the 26-year-old is their number one goal for the midfield this summer.

Although there is an agreement between the La Liga side and Torreira , a deal is ‘far from anything close’ with the Gunners.

In principle, the Uruguay international will leave the Emirates.

Valencia find it difficult to buy him, but their intention is to unblock negotiations with Arteta’s side and try to agree a deal that can be satisfactory for all parties.

The Spanish club have the need to sell first, which is their priority before bringing new faces to the club, and it is necessary to first unblock the exit operations at Mestalla.

Valencia plan to convince Arsenal to sign Torreira, but even if they succeed, they will only be able to land the South American once they sort out the exit operations.

‘This is the plan’ to take Torreira away from the Gunners.
