It’s been a difficult start for Paris-Saint Germain in Ligue 1 this season, which isn’t hugely surprising after they failed to replace Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
The Manchester United striker played a crucial role in Paris-Saint Germain’s success in the last few seasons, and they look like a different team without him.
Montpellier star Ryad Boudebouz has been speaking to French TV outlet Canal Plus (via Le 10 Sport), and was asked about Paris-Saint Germain’s poor start to the season.
The Algerian international believes Ibrahimovic’s departure to Manchester United has weakened Paris-Saint Germain.
He said: “The departure of Ibrahimovic has weakened Paris-Saint Germain. When he was there, they were much more impressive.
“Today, Paris is in a period of doubt. And the teams have less fear, we will get at them, and they do not like it. And here, we must shake up this team of Paris. There are talented players, if you let them play, you’ll concede three or four.”
The Swedish star has made an instant impact at Manchester United, and has four league goals to his name so far.
Ibrahimovic’s impact at PSG was huge, the footballer’s huge personality, will to win, and physical prowess were all helpful to the team. In advance it was expected that PSG would sign another huge star to replace Ibrahimovic, but they didn’t manage to secure one, and perhaps are seeing the result.
