Following the initial reports about Flamengo’s interest in Nottingham Forest midfielder Gustavo Scarpa, we now get to see an interesting report from Brazil on the possibility of a swap deal.
Journalist Julio Miguel Neto comes up with an ‘exclusive’ report claiming the Rio de Janeiro club have an ‘ace on their sleeve’ to try to convince the Reds.
Since Flamengo don’t have much money to invest on the signing, it’s claimed that they could include 22-year-old goalkeeper Matheus Cunha in the deal with Nottingham Forest.
The report claims the Tricky Trees had been interested in the player before, and that would make the talks a lot easier.
Scarpa was reportedly requested by Flamengo’s new manager Tite, and the club are said to be working to get that signing done.
Many Brazilian clubs are said to be interested in the midfielder, though, with Internacional, Atletico Mineiro and Vasco da Gama all getting in touch for the signing.
We must just point out that this potential swap deal hasn’t been reported by any major media outlets yet, so we should probably wait before buying this story entirely.
