A week or so ago, we covered a surprising story that emerged in Italy that Inter Milan are thinking about moving for Arsenal’s Takehiro Tomiyasu.
The Japan international hasn’t quite managed to impress as much as first expected when he arrived from Bologna, and last season’s injury issues saw him lose a starting spot in Mikel Arteta’s plans.
That’s why Inter are sniffing around, although their first offer, as reported by Corriere della Sera, might not be enough.
Previous reports suggested that, despite a willingness to sell from Arsenal’s end, the Gunners wanted €35m for their defender.
This is a fee Inter are unlikely to match, seeing as they were already struggling to get a transfer for Folarin Balogun over the line, but that doesn’t mean they won’t give it a go.
Corriere della Sera state that, following Milan Skriniar’s free transfer to Paris Saint-Germain, there is a need to replace him, and Tomiyasu is the player being looked at.
It’s said that Inter ‘could offer €20m’ to Arsenal for their player, although by the sound of previous reports, we can already expect that to be sent back to sender.
