For the past two weeks, Bayern Munich have been linked with Leeds United star Raphinha.

It all started on Christmas Eve when TNT Sports Brasil stated the winger could leave the Whites for the Bundesliga winners, and the deal would cost the latter around €50m.

Two days ago, Sky Deutschland stated there is little possibility of an agreement for an imminent transfer of the 25-year-old because Bayern’s priority is to extend Kingsley Coman’s contract, which expires in 2023.

L’Equipe state Bayern don’t intend to let Coman leave as a free agent and can contemplate the possibility of cutting ties with him next summer, if there is no renewal. If the Frenchman were to leave later this year, his employer will then have to bring in a replacement.

The report says Bayern chief Oliver Kahn and their sporting director, Hasan Salihamidžić, are already ‘exploring the tracks’ leading to the signing of Raphinha and Chelsea’s Callum Hudson-Odoi.

However, their ‘number one track’ leads to Ousmane Dembélé, who is out of contract at Barcelona at the end of the season.

His profile is appreciated by Salihamidžić, while manager Julian Nagelsmann appreciates Dembélé’s pace, ‘explosiveness and carefree attitude’. If a deal for the Barca player were not to materialise, Bayern could look at either Raphinha or the Chelsea attacker.

L’Equipe’s latest report contradicts claims made by journalist Florian Plettenberg earlier this week. He had stated that Nagelsmann’s side have ruled out signing the Leeds player either in January or next summer.
