Although AC Milan seem pretty certain they will be signing Tiémoué Bakayoko from Chelsea in the summer, it looks like they may not keep their midfield duo for next season.
Italian newspaper Tuttosport brings a story today saying the club may have not put a selling sign on Franck Kessie’s back, but the 22-year-old could be leaving in the summer, and Tottenham are a name option.
Kessie joined Milan on a loan deal from Atalanta in 2017, and is signing permanently in a few months due to the €19.2m obligatory buying clause.
However, he’s now worth much more, and that’s why Milan are ready to listen to the offers that may come. Among the interested sides, Tuttosport mentions the name of Tottenham Hotspur.
Milan reportedly believes Kessie can be sold for over €40m, and that’s a pretty good reason to let him go, as they would make an immediate €20m profit. That would also be good to keep the club fine with the financial fair play.
Now Milan wait and see if such bid will be made, and they expect the offers. And even if it doesn’t happen, it’s not a bad scenario for the Rossoneri, since they are pretty satisfied with Kessie in the team.
Money talks, although Mauricio Pochettino’s side may well feel they can get the player for less than €40m.
