Sabah have today reported on the latest developments regarding Fenerbahce’s pursuit of Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg.

The Denmark international has been linked with a move to the Turkish side over the past few days following the appointment of his former Spurs boss Jose Mourinho.

According to Sabah, Fenerbahce are ready to open official transfer talks with Hojbjerg after recent reports that they had approached the player. The Turkish media outlet say Mourinho is determined to make the Tottenham player his first signing as he looks to bring in reinforcements to his squad.

Fener narrowly missed out on the Super Lig title to local rivals Galatasaray and will need to bring in players to challenge next season.

Only this week we covered reports from Turkey that the 28-year-old would be interested in being reunited with Mourinho. The Dane struggled to get starts for Tottenham last season and he may need to move on this summer to get more playing time.

Hojbjerg was a regular in Tottenham’s squad last season but made just eight starts in the Premier League. He’s contracted to the North London club until June 2025.
