Roma striker Tammy Abraham has been ‘at the top of Aston Villa’s list’ for several months, with his asking price now likely to be around €40m.
That’s according to Calciomercato, who say the ‘sirens are ringing’ for a possible departure at the end of the season.
They explain that Abraham’s future is ‘yet to be written’ as while the striker is very attached to the Italian club, seeing it as a second home, he wants to be a starter week in, week out.
That has not been the case of late, with the striker slowly slipping down the pecking order from indispensable player to important player to ‘few too many’ appearances on the bench.
That has led to speculation about a potential return to England and Aston Villa would love to have him back if they can.
They’ve had him at the top of their list of possible reinforcements for ‘several months’ as they plan a big first summer under Unai Emery.
Recent reports had indicated Roma would want as much as €75m for their man but CM say otherwise and report that Roma ‘could evaluate’ a sale so long as the price offered is above €40m.
That’s a far more affordable figure for Aston Villa, who know that other Premier League sides have taken an interest in him as well.
Whether they make an official bid remains to be seen but the feeling is Roma are ready to talk and the Premier League is ‘now calling’ the former Chelsea forward.
